If you think yoga is not for you, think again; Yoga is for everyone. The word yoga comes from a Sanskrit root word that means “to unite”. The unity referred to here gets a little deep but simply put, yoga is the practice of uniting the physical body, breath and mind to increase awareness of the body. It is not about twisting your body into the perfect asana(pose). It is about becoming aware of the sensations in your body or what you are feeling.
To get to a point of awareness, you have to take time to focus on you and only you in a space that is supportive of this focus. This does require disconnecting from the outside world but only for a little while so no panic needed. Taking this time once or twice a week will lead to what is referred to as a practice- your practice. Awareness of the body allows you the ability to acknowledge and change the way you interact with yourself. Before you know it, you will catch yourself as soon as you clench your teeth when you get frustrated or tense your shoulders when you type (yes, it is a thing).
If you don’t know how to start developing your practice, don’t worry! that is what D.A.Y is for. Join D.A.Y Community and build your practice in a supportive space with us.
Remember to find a moment for you in the day....until next time.

This is very inspiring information. Very informative because I definitely am one of those people that saw yoga as something people use to become flexible. Keep the info coming.
