You ever have a moment where you just need to talk to a friend? Get your thoughts out and feel the comfort of a familiar voice and maybe even a little advice. Think about a time like that, do you remember feeling better after that time with a friend? Maybe you can recall other moments where you felt fine but being around friends made you feel even better.
Remember last time we chatted about who you surround yourself with matters- well, it does! It plays a role in how you feel and think about yourself. Think about a time you were around a lot of negative people..how did you end up feeling? Chances are negative. Whether it was starting to join in on the negativity or angry all of a sudden. Now, think about a time where you were surrounded by positive conversation and events. Maybe this is planning something good or maybe the event itself. How did you feel? Likely some anxiety if you don’t like planning things but, also likely, positive feelings overall. The type of people, and their attitudes, will either help get you stuck in negative life mud or move you towards positive life skies.
Now, this is not to say you will never have tough, angry, negative moments but you won’t live in them. Life is easier when you have supportive people around you who want to see you thrive. People to help you sort the small things from the big things and be there for you through the big things. There are many names for a group like this but I call it a community.
